Recent news reports have suggested that in the current economic climate, the much-loved national hobby of shopping is gradually being replaced by window shopping. This is obviously bad news for already struggling manufacturers and service providers, so what are their options?
Redundancies, reduced working week, close the business?
Look for new markets overseas, grow the business, increase headcount?
I’m not suggesting that exporting is easy and should be undertaken without any research and planning but for the sake of the British economy, I hope that some companies might consider this option. Who knows, it might be the best thing they ever do.
