Commercialisation

With over 29 years’ experience of commercialising intellectual property internationally in a wide range of sectors including military aircraft, pharmaceuticals, oil & gas and even musical instruments, we understand from first-hand experience the challenges involved in bringing new products to market, and entering new markets with new products.

Licensing

We are aware that when it comes to licensing intellectual property some prospective licensors may believe a solicitor is the best source of professional advice, and this may be true in some cases. However, it is important to bear in mind that the challenges that arise from licensing are not just confined to legal matters. Issues encountered when licensing are likely to range across a number of business disciplines and it is important that you have a clear understanding of what you want from the proposed deal and how this fits into your overall commercial strategy. Although we are not legal professionals, we do benefit from a sound commercial background in licensing, with a focus on leveraging the value of intellectual assets and we believe this is where we add value to the licensing process.

Our experience includes negotiation of multi-million dollar contracts with some of the largest global companies, working with business partners from a variety of countries and cultures. • Undertaking international business development
  • Filling a management role in your company on an interim basis

Collaboration with universities and research institutes

Many companies find it challenging to negotiate contracts with universities or public bodies as a result of different business cultures.  The process can be extremely complex and very time consuming, however we have considerable experience of operating in this interface and understand how best to achieve an acceptable outcome for each party.
